I designed an array of colourful graphics to work across a variety of materials including t-shirts, press adverts and banners, standing in solidarity with the Russian punk band Pussy Riot.
After receiving a disproportionate jail sentence after staging an anti-Vladimir Putin protest in a Moscow cathedral, Amnesty International declared them prisoners of conscience and a huge worldwide campaign started for their release.
The graphic represents brightly coloured balaclavas, which the members of the band wear when performing, and have been subsequently worn by campaigners. They are now seen as an iconic symbol for freedom of speech and a fight against political oppression.
